Anxiety & Perfectionism Therapy
Therapy for high-achieving adults in Memphis facing anxiety, perfectionism, and burnout. In-person and telehealth support across TN and FL.
When Doing Everything Right Still Doesn't
Feel Like Enough
You show up, follow through, and hold things together for everyone around you. But underneath it, there's a low hum of pressure that never fully turns off: the overthinking, the need to get it right, the fear of what happens if you slow down.
Understanding the Pattern Before Trying to Change It
Anxiety and perfectionism usually aren’t the problem on their own. They may be ways you learned to stay safe, capable, and in control. Before we try to change anything, we look at what these patterns have been protecting you from. From there, we build something more sustainable than pushing harder.
What This Looks Like in Practice
Sessions draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and interpersonal approaches, chosen based on what's actually happening in your life, not a fixed script. Early sessions focus on understanding your patterns and what's driving them. From there, we work on:
-
Responding to anxious thoughts without letting them run the show
-
Loosening perfectionistic standards that leave you depleted
-
Rebuilding trust in your own judgment
-
Making room for rest and values alongside achievement
Who This Work Is For
This work fits people who look like they have it together on the outside, high-achievers, caretakers, people used to being the reliable one, but feel privately exhausted, anxious, or unsure how to slow down without everything falling apart.
Questions Before You Start
"What if my problem isn't serious enough for therapy?"
You don't need a crisis to justify getting support. Feeling constantly "on" is reason enough.
"Shouldn't I be able to handle this myself?"
Managing anxiety alone and understanding it are different things. Therapy is for the second one.
